A new phase has begun for the QSea I project.
The three QSea I project partners ParityQC, eleQtron and NXP Semiconductors are developing a prototype quantum computer based on ion traps at the DLR Innovation Centre Hamburg (IZHH), as part of the DLR Quantum Computing Initiative.
The QSea I project is now entering its next phase: at the NXP site in Hamburg, Christian Wiebus (NXP), in the presence of Dr. Robert Axmann (Head of DLR QCI), Michael Johanning (CTO eleQtron) and Christian Ertler (Head of Technology Partnerships at ParityQC), handed over the laboratory in which the consortium will build the 10-qubit quantum computer QSea I over the next few months.
This demonstrator for an ion trap quantum computer will contain at least ten fully functional qubits and will be available for applications at DLR at an early stage.
